Helping You and Your Child Navigate Life's Challenges with Compassion and Care

Therapy specialties

As a parent, it’s natural to want to protect your child from life’s difficulties. But when challenges like anxiety, grief, or major transitions arise, it can feel overwhelming—not just for your child, but for you as well. Whether your child is struggling with the pressures of school, coping with a loss, or facing a significant life change, therapy can offer meaningful support and guidance for both of you.

At this pivotal stage, the right kind of therapy can shape how your child learns to understand their emotions, build resilience, and navigate the world with greater confidence. Just as importantly, you don’t have to figure out how to support them on your own. I work collaboratively with parents, offering insight, tools, and ongoing guidance so you feel more confident and supported along the way.

If you’ve noticed your child struggling, you’re not alone—and support is available for your child and for you.

Areas of Speciality

  • Anxiety Support

    Anxiety:

Anxiety is one of the most common challenges for children, teens, and young adults—and it can be just as hard to witness as a parent as it is to experience. Whether it shows up as school stress, social pressure, or a constant sense of worry, anxiety can take a significant toll on your child’s well-being and on family life as a whole. You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, worried, or unsure how to help, especially when nothing seems to fully ease your child’s distress.

In therapy, your child will learn healthy coping skills, stress management techniques, and ways to better understand and reframe anxious thoughts. At the same time, I work closely with parents—not only to offer insight and strategies, but also to support your own experience of navigating your child’s anxiety. You may need space to process your concerns, manage your own stress, and feel more grounded in how you respond.

Together, we can help your child regain a sense of calm and confidence—and help you feel more supported, steady, and equipped along the way.

  • Grief and Loss Support

    Grief and Loss:

Loss is a profound and difficult experience for anyone, and it can be especially hard to navigate as a parent when your child is grieving. Children and teens often struggle to understand and process their emotions, and you may find yourself unsure how best to support them while also carrying your own grief.

Whether it's the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or another significant life change, grief can deeply impact a young person’s emotional and social well-being—and affect the entire family system. Therapy provides a safe space for your child to express their emotions, process their grief, and find meaningful ways to honor their loss while learning to heal.

At the same time, I support parents not only in how to show up for their child, but also in tending to their own experience of loss. You may need space to process your grief, make sense of what you’re feeling, or simply feel supported during an incredibly difficult time. Together, we can support both your child’s healing and your own, so you don’t have to carry this alone.

  • Life Transition Support

    Life Transitions:

Children, teens, and young adults go through many life transitions—moving to a new school, adjusting to a new home, shifts in family dynamics, or preparing for the next stage of life. These changes can feel overwhelming not only for your child, but for you as a parent as well. You may be navigating your own adjustment while also trying to support your child through uncertainty.

Each transition brings unique challenges. In therapy, your child will build the emotional tools and coping strategies needed to navigate change, strengthen resilience, and grow in confidence. I also support parents in processing their own experience of transition—whether that’s stress, grief, or feeling unsteady—while offering guidance and practical strategies to help you show up for your child.

Together, we can help your child adjust with greater ease—and help you feel more grounded, supported, and confident through the process.

Why Therapy Works

Kids, teens, and young adults are at critical stages of emotional and psychological development. Therapy provides a structured, supportive environment where they can better understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. A therapist can help your child express themselves in ways that feel safe and comfortable, helping them develop important life skills—such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, and self-reflection—that will benefit them for years to come.

As a parent, you may wonder if therapy is the right path for your child, especially if they are hesitant about the idea. Many children feel more comfortable speaking with a therapist because it offers them a neutral, non-judgmental space to explore their feelings. The therapeutic relationship helps build trust and provides the support they need to overcome challenges in a constructive, healthy way.

Maybe you are also new to therapy. This is a judgment-free zone to be able to let your guard down, share challenges, seek support, and walk away with new tools and strategies to try to help keep yourself going in a way that feels empowered.
